Hello Mr. Yos,
My name is Matthew Garrett and I teach an art class here in Peoria, IL, USA. We’re going to be covering expressive and abstract painting this week, and I’m going to show the students several examples of your truly fantastic work. I am a painter myself, and I really like your style. Thanks again for helping our students gain a better understanding of expressive art.
In the class on Saturday, we had time to view and discuss about 10 of your paintings and the students were impressed for sure. They had a lot of positive things to say, especially about “Lillian” and ”Roses” and “Eucaliptus” which they all liked very much. We also discussed Jackson Pollock this week, but they overwhelmingly preferred your expressions over his, I thought you would enjoy to know. |

JOIN OPENSALA Email YOS or WIL Opensala is currently accepting new members. After proper introductions have shown us to be on the same page, initial sign-up come with a proper bio and statement page, with one gallery of up to 24 images, comes to $500. Subsequent galleries of 24 max images each, are $250. (read full details) HELLO OPENSALA ~ my fellow artists. Yos & I met almost two years ago, now. He got my attention with his 'global' orientation, animated by computor, cinema and the rest of it. Less than a year earlier I'd decided to come out and collaborate with artists. Yos was slready working with you guys and I'm happy to have been invited to the party. Previously, professional jealousy had prevented me from working much with other artists. No longer do I see myself a 'serious' artist. Funny - stuff is what I'm really all about. After 49 years of painting, it can finally be admitted. I do not think either Yos or I, had a grasp of just how much trust and patience it takes to 'work' together. It is not a waste of time being as honest as one can. Let's have some fun, making fun of making fun! Logically it makes good sense to give some comic-relief to this seemingly troubled world I'm an old-geezer with 49 years seriously painting, no official education to brag about, and hardly any of the actual works or photos left as evidence. I speak only English, sorry, but I'll do what I can to somehow make your lives more fun. In order to stand up and be the 'Artists-of-Today' We must return to basics: natural beauty, whatever that is, If I could only paint as much beauty as I see!..and surely there's still an appreciative eye in this world. It's high-time to use all our enginuity, take every advantage, compound and leverage all opportunities. It's time for some real multiplification, here! The man told me if I could not be holy, then at least be funny, but in any case, not to waste his time! Here, in Santa Cruz, California, there are at least three active Opensala teammates, Yos, Noa, & me, Wil. Yos has difficulty with English, and I have no computor-savvy, so we limp along, together. Just in the last two days, Yos & I got each-other out to do plein-aire,again; it feels great! I cannot give you a 'real' tree, but give me a paint-brush and let me tell you some fantastic lie about one. hopefully a fantastical-funny one. Let's make full use of all this age has to offer and give it what will feed the souls of today's people. Wilfred Sarr, June 2009 ![]() |
