Painter Artist
Noam Maor was born in Netanya Israel, a city known for its hard crime and Mediterranean beauty.
Noam is self-educated, with many masters of the past and some academic study.
He is a world-traveler of small means. On the move, he paints, draws, photographs and writes short-stories whenever he feels the need.
His media are Acrylics, Oils, Chalk, Pencils and he can use whatever means and circumstances are available. He has acquired some computer expertise, he photographs and he is deep into digital arts.
He was designer for a theater, did prints, photography, worked in shared studios using industrial materials and showed in different parts of the world.
Maor has worked and shown in France, England, India, Israel and the USA. In Paris he also shared known communal work spaces. See history of his inner studios and gallery exhibitions.
For the last few years, he has been working mostly in India in accumulated times. While there, Noam has created several bodies of works while traversing the entire length of India back and forth by bus and train.
Today painters Noam Maor and Yos Joseph Tany and a few other artists create Opensala, Opensala is part of a real new age movement. It is in fact an international circle of artist friends who are learning to work together, to encourage and support each other while nourishing all eyes and hearts with their offerings .
As one of Team Opensala, Maor is currently invited to The US to work together with a few others and to shOw in Opensala studios near Santa Cruz, CA .

Born 1967, Israel
1989 Early professional painting, studies of the history of art.
In a certain moment realized to the full that he always had been an artist-painter and always will be one.
1991 Joined the Israeli National Theater (HABIMA) as an assistant stage designer. During a three years period he had learned different techniques and methods from some Israeli professional known craft artists.
Exposed his early work in the Israeli national theatre.
1993 Learned printing from the artist Joseph Tany (Yos) in Tel Aviv.
1994 Photography and art tour to the Far East, Australia, U.S and GB. Paris was planned as the final destination of this journey.
Upon arrival to Paris, joined the art movement later known as “Simpozion”.
1995-1999 lived and created in Paris, France. In that period worked with various materials and techniques mainly industrial materials, exposing very large scale pieces, paintings and sculptures. Presenting in various alternative art galleries and theatres in Paris such as Saphir Gallery, Rue de Paris 25, Juliet Doodoo.
In that period worked and exposed with some of the “art cloche” group dissidents, such as the late Alexander Putov, the late Alexey Chwostchenko Till Valgrco, Frank Tiborse and more.
1999 As part of a continuous search to extend artistic Medias, studied 3D art animation and computer design in Tel- Aviv College.
At this point specialized in computer arts by gaining skills and knowledge in software programming and web master studies.
2001-2005 Continuous work in acrylic and oil on various scale canvases by focusing more on abstract figurative rather than landscapes.
Paintings were constantly exhibited on Ben Yehuda 60 gallery-studio in Tel Aviv center. At that home gallery his digital work was presented as well.
2005 Presented in Zebra gallery, Hampsted, London – Show focused on legendary animals using acrylic bright tones black canvases.
2006 A show at Opensala gallery, North California showing five years of figurative work. Exhibition presented ancient human figures, highlighting magicians, saints and prophets.
2007 India– Black & White photography series of more than 30,000 photos of India.
England – settled on the isolated Raggedstone hill and created the digital series of “A bit south to the heart of India” based on the black & white photos taken in India and colored with the influence of the soft colors of the Malven hills.
2008 A show at Tova Osman’s gallery based on the ancient mariner (a poem by Samuel Coleridge Taylor), got a significant exposure and was acknowledged by the media more than the usual.
Paintings are collected in various collections such as Erenberg’s art collection, Natan Zach, Yossi Benyaminov, E. Tepper’s collection and more.
